The Most Important Image Ever Taken

Take a look at this video. The first two minutes are slow but after that it is absolutely fascinating.

Who is the Master Debater?

Tomorrow is the vice presidential debate. Most tend to agree that this is typically the most pointless, or rather the least influential debate of the four. However, the key word is typically. This debate will potentially be the most important of all four, because for the first time ever America will get to see who Sarah Palin really is. Hopefully both candidates will tell us all who they really are, what they stand for and what they believe in. I will turn the TV off if I realize that I'm going to be watching 90 minutes of each vice presidential candidate slamming the other party's presidential candidate.

I personally think that Sarah Palin is a disgrace of a politician and the reasons McCain chose her are in his best interests and not the country's best interests. Just take a look at this interview with her, and keep in mind that Katie Couric is going easy on her:

I think the video speaks for itself, and there are more moments just like this from the same interview! Can this woman really be President of the most powerful country in the world if the oldest first term president ever (McCain) croaks?

Ona final note: if you like to look at a bunch of numbers/statistics relating to the election, including projections on all the states, etc., you should head to http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ and check out all the stuff on there.

So the first week of school is over and more than anything I am tired. Last night at around 11:30 I just couldn't keep my eyes open anymore and had to go downstairs to my room and pass out. I woke up to some funny text messages though!! I guess I just don't remember how tiring school is when you have a full courseload. I figured that 16 hours/week of class vs. 40 working hours would be cake... but homework and studying really can take their toll. Regardless I'm still 99% sure I want to stay at cal poly as long as possible and get my master's degree. I'm just having too good of a time here and working this summer really opened my eyes as to why people said that college is the best time of your life.
Also, because my life isn't THAT exciting and I need more to write about, i think i will start posting my weekly predictions for football from now on on Friday or Saturday. I encourage any of the 3 people who actually read my blog to post your predictions too in the comments section.

  • Minnesota at Tennessee - The Titans defense is nuts this year. I think this will be a close, low scoring game.
  • Denver at Kansas City - Cutler is a beast and KC is a joke.
  • San Francisco at New Orleans -49ers are better than last year, but I don't think they can score as many points as the Saints.
  • Arizona at NY Jets - The Jets are waaay overated. Brett Farve should've retired on a high note. Now he looks as dumb as Michael Jordan did.
  • Green Bay at Tampa Bay - Green Bay looked sloppy last week, but Aaron Rodgers still has a great RB and some really good receivers.
  • Atlanta at Carolina - Carolina is lucky to be doing this good. I think Michael Turner will burn all over these fools.
  • Houston at Jacksonville - They may be 1-2, but the Jags have some good talent (definitely more than Houston).
  • Cleveland at Cincinnati - This one was hard, but I just think the Bengals are a better team than the Browns.
  • San Diego at Oakland - Besides being a way better team, the Chargers are still probably mad about their BS first two week losses.
  • Buffalo at St. Louis - Marshawn Lynch is one of the ugliest people in the world, but he will crush the joke known as the
  • Washington at Dallas - The Cowboys showed the last two weeks that they can beat 2 of the best
  • Philadelphia at Chicago - Even without Westbrook, McNabb is a beast. Plus the bears got stomped on last week in the passing game.
  • Baltimore at Pittsburgh - With Roethlisberger recovering, Willie Parker out, and Baltimore's insane D, I just can't see the Ravens losing.

Today I looked for the giant spider in my room again and Joe just laughed at me in his funny high pitched laugh (Youtube video to come soon!!). He said that spiders are completely harmless but I just have trouble sleeping knowing that there is a big ass spider in my bed with me. I hope it crawls into joes room and bites him while hes playing videogames.
I also just got back from walking to 7-11 with chris and nate. They got slurpees but I was after some tortillas cause we ran out a few days ago. Unfortunately 7-11 isnt the best place to buy tortillas cause the only ones they had were expired 7 days ago and they were wheat ones. Once again the guy behind the counter gave me dirty looks for not buying anything.
On a more serious note today was my third day of my third year at cal poly. I'm taking Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Intermediate Dynamics, and Electronics. It's gonna be a rough quarter, and i'm definitely spending way too much time on Intermediate Dynamics. It is bringing back all the horrible memories of 2 quarters ago when i spent countless hours each day in the library slaving away at 3 dynamics problems. Fluid mechanics also seems like it is going to be hard, and my teacher has the funniest dress style in the world... but i guess you have to expect you are going to have to put some time into these classes.
For now I'm enjoying living in SLO and not working 40 hours a week. Things seem to be looking up.
